Refill vs. Tank Exchange: What You Actually Get

Exchange trades a tank; refill sells you gas by the gallon. The difference in what you get home with is larger than most people expect.

When Does a Propane Tank Expire?

Twelve years from the date stamped on the collar, then a requalification interval that depends on the test method. An out-of-date cylinder cannot legally be refilled.
